Villamblard and beyond
Fresh bread from the village, morning markets, countryside drives, swimming nearby and easy day trips across the Dordogne.
Around 10 minutes walk from the gite, Villamblard has a boulangerie, Proxi general store with petrol pump, smaller produce store, cafe, hardware store, bank with cashpoint and a small Monday morning food market.
Mussidan is around 10 miles away and offers supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, a Saturday market, tourist information, shops, a station and a large outdoor public pool.
Bergerac is around 30 minutes away, Perigueux around 40 minutes and Bordeaux around 1 hour 20 minutes by car.
Getting here
The easiest route is to fly to Bergerac or Bordeaux, then hire a car.
Brittany Ferries run an overnight crossing from Portsmouth to Saint Malo, followed by around 372 miles of driving.
The Folkestone to Calais shuttle route is around 535 miles from Calais, approximately 8 hours 30 minutes by car.
